The inspiration of chains and weaved chains are drawn from the cords of military uniforms. Adding them in gold and gunmetal gives the feel of battle and gun ammo.
Army green dresses as well as brown dresses decked in gold looking bullet shells dawned the shelves at stores for the season. Big belts also added the military color to dresses.  Rainboots decked in camoflauge would make any outfit have the military look.
The military season has drawn the use of browns, and various army greens. Camoflauge prints as well as army badges contributed to the use of appareal.
Military inspiration has been used to give detail to jewelry for the season. Gunmetal was a big use in this season's look, whether it be necklaces to look like bullet casings or necklaces of chains.

Clas-itary

While enjoying a night out on The Plaza downtown I ran into Kelsey, 21,  from Lawrence, Kansas. Her classy, yet military inspired outfit made me want these pants!! She took green cargo, straight legs and added a classy, boyfriend blazer, and plane black heels (which I just so happened to have) to make this elegant, yet night out outfit work. She added a touch of color with some chunky bracelets, and rings. Kelsey is a student at The University of Kansas, studying business. She loves any type of music she can sing to, a night out with friends, running, her religion, and of course her family. Her favorite places to shop are Urban Outfitters (mine too!) and Anthropology. SIGH i want that blazer!

Military Casual

This is my friend Mal, 20. I have always been inspired by her fashion forward wardrobes, and great sense of style. Mal is a student at FIDM, in Los Angelas, California. She doesn't really like to watch movies, or tv, as she would rather be out and about in the 'scene' of LA. Her favorite celebs are Rachel Zoe, Sienna Miller, and Mary-Kate and Ashley. Her favorite shopping spots are shopbop online, Intermix, and FredSegal XX. I absolutely loved this outfit because I love anything high wasted, and I like how should added a military flare to this boho, casual look. She is taking advantage of this beautiful, fall weather, that I hope lasts longer then the weather man predicts!!

Military meets femme

While browsing through the mall, one particular women caught my eye. I'm not sure if it was her exuberant personality, jangily arm-full of bangles, or her great fashion sense that pulled me in. Her style is both military and very feminane, which I LOVE! (Jacket and belt can both be found at Britches!). She put them with nude colored suade heels, and super dark skinny jeans (not jeggins).

Shena, 26. Resident of Lee Summit, Missouri.
She works part-time at a retail boutique, full-time mother of a one yr. old boy.
Shena likes to spend her spare time with her child, and her recent fiance. Loves romantic comedies, and fashion forward movies like Sex and the City. Her favorite celebrities are Sandra Bullock, ALL Kardashians, and Kristen Bell. (Laughing is her favorite). One of her many talents is finding fun, fashionable items in random places. (She would not spill her secret, which, I don't know if I would either!) SIGH.

Britches Boutique

One place you should be sure to check out while shopping is Britches, located on the top floor of Oak Park Mall next to Express. Britches buyer is located in Los Angelas, California which is one reason why they have such a unique style then most other stores around the KC area. Britches only has two other locations; Lawrence, KS and Columiba, Missouri.
Whats unique about Britches, is they only get a minimal amount of each of their products in the store. Meaning, they will have one style of shirt, in a small, medium, and large and that is all. Once the store runs of of that style, there is not saying if they will get more (downside). However, that is one plus, because I don't know about you, BUT I hate going out and seeing five other peole wearing my same outfit! Britches not only sells clothing, but shoes, accesories such as; sunglasses, rings, earrings, scarves, purses/bags, necklaces, bracelets, and belts. They also sell cosmetics.

This is a manican that I thought represented this falls military fashion, which is very big still.
For all you one stop shoppers, britches is a great place to go! (the customer service is excellent as well!)
